1,460 Days

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

My youngest is four years old today (or 1,460 days old!).  Where has time gone? Here is a picture celebration of my little girlfriend, with some fun facts.

Miss J has very recently noticed that she is a girl and not a dirty little tomboy.  I'm loving her obsession with tights and hair crowns (headbands) and pretties.

You can predict the humidity outside by Miss J's curls.  Slight curl=low humidity, tight curls=high humidity.

Miss J is a total bag lady.  She fills purses, backpacks, tote bags, and Ziploc baggies with stuff.  Then carts it around the house.

Jbday2

Miss J loves lady bugs and roly polys.

Mmp11

Miss J loves to draw pictures and make pretend shopping lists.

Childrens060

Miss J does NOT eat like a kid.  She loves broccoli, asparagus, salmon, and hummus.

Miss J's biggest dream in life is to ride a big yellow school bus.  She waves at them and counts them.

Thanks for looking!

Mr. Sunshine

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

This little man was the sunshine, rainbow, and pot of gold that brightened my day.  He is turning three soon and was a fantastic subject! This age group is not always cooperative with photographers (or doctors or teachers or strangers), and Mr. C  defied that rule.  He sang, danced, giggled, and hammed it up!

Here is a quick peek from our session:

It is a crime to turn his lovely hair and complexion black and white, but I made an exception for this image:

…in this first image and I love it! It is birthday time for one of my baby plan babies.  This year has flown by and I have photographed all her milestones.  Miss E has celebrated and had more than her share of cake this week! Coming soon: a post with her growth through her first year.

Three Years

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Big M is now three years old.  I love photographing third birthdays, as kids are becoming fiercely independent and finding their inner silliness!  M was a perfect gentleman, smiled on cue, and made my day.  Lots of time left over to sneak in a few shots of his third sister — the man is seriously outnumbered!

A Real Cowboy

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

My cowboy friends came to see me today.  They are real cowboys — they have spurs and horses and ropes and big ol' belt buckles and a ranch and a barn.  Our circle of friends bombard  them with questions about rodeoing and riding and anything horse related or outdoorsy.  I find it fascinating to learn what goes on (often before sunrise) in their world.

Even Mr. K, who turns five this week, can rope and ride solo.  He brought along his newest saddle, HANDMADE by his Grandpa, which is an amazingly detailed work of art.  Take a peek:

My Entomologist Friend

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

My entomologist friend turned six last week.  He is the neighborhood bug expert, and full of information on the insects under my rocks or on the play structure, as he calls it (the rest of us say swing set).
D is way too used to my camera, and in that squinty, frozen "cheese" face stage that all kids go through.  We loosened him up a bit, and these shots really show his personality.  Lil' sis joined the fun, too. Happy Birthday!

**Their mom is my tutu lady…(baircreations.com) for good kid stuff!

Double Fisting

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

My visitor yesterday was very thorough in eating his birthday cake for the camera.  He dug right in, sampling frosting, then starting double fisting the sugar into his mouth! I love cake sessions for the fun factor, but also because of the extra oomph it adds to the session….any baby, no matter how many outfits or how many poses endured, will perk up when a cake shows up.  See what I mean?

My Man is Five

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

My E-Man is five today.  I cannot believe that I have another baby going off to Kindergarten in the fall.  We had a bowling birthday party last weekend while Grandma and Grandpa were in town, and had a blast (picture below). Today will be more low key with a special dinner and cake & ice cream for dessert.

Five Tidbits about my five year old:

1. He is an early riser.  E wakes up between 5:30 and 6 am every day without fail (365 x5= whole lot of TOO early mornings).

2. E is an outdoor kid.  He baits the fishing poles, jumps in mud puddles, and rides bikes til he drops.

3. He was born in the middle of a wild thunder storm and we worried my mom's flight would not be able to land in Tulsa.

4. He has a dozen different versions of this crazy shake-your-booty dance and is always busting a move.

5. E-Man has more personality than anyone I know.  He is naturally goofy, silly, sweet, entertaining, charming, and oozes happy vibes from his pores.

At 12 hours old (he came out perfect and round and adorable and posed for me immediately, which is when my photography hobby became an obsession):
